The “Mandala” Mindfulness Garden – featuring Sails and Canvas recycled sailcloth triangular floor cushions!

Extract from RHS website

This rural haven within a carbonised timber boundary creates a quiet space for children to take part in mindful activities in their urban school environment.

Recycled timber is formed into seating for small group mindfulness sessions, and the paths between the seating allow movement and flow.

Permanent mandalas made from natural materials provoke contemplation and creativity, enabling children to ‘stop and be’. They can also create temporary mandalas from nature’s objects on the central oak table and in the shade of the tree, or try out mindfulness practices devised for specific areas of the garden. Tactile daisy turf and seated areas surrounded by planting and natural materials encourage the children to use their senses to explore what nature has to offer. The space is a quiet refuge supporting wellbeing, concentration and calm.

In collaboration with the Mindfulness in Schools Project, who aim to reach one million children over five years with their Million Minds Matter campaign.
