It was great to spend yesterday morning at Charlie’s Beach School with founder Yvette and Bernie. Perfectly situated at Exmouth’s Sideshore with direct access to 2 miles of beach front and amazing views, the school had it’s Grand Opening on 21st September. Yvette introduced us to the charity earlier in the Summer and we are very happy to be sponsoring and making beach clean buckets and sacks for them from recycled sails.

The Charlie Duignan Foundation is in memory of Charlie who sadly passed away in January 2024, aged 8. Charlie had a real love for sea life, the beach and was a keen beach litter picker, which he saw as a free treasure hunt with the added benefit of doing good by cleaning up the beach and sea for others and helping Mother Nature.

In setting up the beach school Charlie’s legacy will benefit not only his friends and family but the wider community in Exmouth and beyond for generations to come. The beach school aims to help children, both local and visiting, by giving them access to the beach and seaside in a positive, fun and informative way. The sessions are run year round and include beach art, sports and learning more about the coastline, sealife and bird life and raise their awareness on beach and water safety.
