Recycle Your Sail
Be Part Of Our Recycling Eco Circle
From boat to bag, we take old sails on a journey that never ends…we call it our eco circle.

sailed
Sails – beautiful, billowing, taking their boats on ocean adventures.

saved
Since 2015, we have been saving sails from landfill.

sewn
Handcrafted into nautically inspired items, retaining the essence of the sail.
How to Recycle with Us
Whether you’re an individual, sailing club or sailmaker , here’s how to recycle your sails.
sails we can use
White Dacron Sails, Coloured Dacron Sails
All sails must be relatively clean and free of mildew – heavily soiled or stained sails do not make beautiful recycled products! White sails must be white looking!!
sails we can’t recycle
Kevlar Sails, Laminated Sails, Windsurf Sails, 3di Moulded sails
We have found that schools, nurseries or forest schools, scout or guide organisations are often able to use these kind of sails as awnings so it may be worth checking locally before sending your sail to landfill.
Getting your sail ready to recycle
Remove any double thickness sail, sacrificial strips, metal work, battens etc leaving only single thickness sail – this makes the sails much easier for packaging & courier carriage.
For Courier Collection – Pack in a suitable box or bag, taking note of the conditions of carriage below.
